JioPhone pre-order website went down within minutes booking started

Today, 24th of August 2017 at 5:30PM, Reliance was supposed to take JioPhone pre-booking but the website was not accessible.

Reliance is taking booking for its "effectively free" Android 4G phone online as well as offline, online via this website and offline via Reliance Digital Stores.

Most of the people who tried to register on their website got a server error as shown in the below screenshot.

Company website went down due to heavy traffic which the web server was not able to handle. Hopefully it will be up in few hours, if you want to be the early owner of JioPhone, you should keep try accessing the website and register once it is up. As per the information we have, the delivery of the orders will start by first week of September. on a first-come-first order.

Following are the features JioPhone is offering:

IO APPS: MyJio, JioTV, JioCinema, JioChat, JioMusic, JioXpressNews

VOICE ASSISTANT: Make calls, send messages, browse, launch camera and open JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic and other apps.

EMAIL: Support for Microsoft Exchange

MISC: CONNECT TO TV, Torch, Support for 22 Indian official languages

CONNECTIVITY: 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wifi, NFC, USB, GPS

MEMORY: 4GB Internal Memory, Expandable upto 128GB

In short, this is a smart phone revolution from Reliance, as they did it with Rs. 500 mobile phone few years back. Now every citizen in India can not only dream but own a smart phone, kudos to Reliance!

Update: After an hour the pre-booking started, the website came up and we were able to place order successfully! The process is simple, enter your mobile number and PIN code, then make a payment of Rs. 500. After successful payment, you will receive a confirmation SMS with details. Now let's wait for the phone to be delivered.
